STEAM Café: Decarbonization: What is it, and why does it matter?

Decarbonization is the reduction of carbon in the atmosphere, either by reducing emissions through energy efficiency and renewable energy generation, or by removing carbon that’s already in the atmosphere. NIU has recently partnered with Trane to develop and implement a comprehensive energy-saving and carbon-emissions-reduction program on the DeKalb campus.
