Celebrating Rev. Julia’ Jones on Sunday, July 13, 2025
This Sunday is Reverend Julia’s final UUCD service and last day of employment with us. She will be moving soon to Maryland with her family. We have special events planned after the service that we hope you can attend to celebrate her time with us as UUCD minister.
Rev. Julia's worship service begins at 10::00. a.m. Church doors open at 9:30. All are welcome.
Because Rev. Julia has been undergoing chemotherapy, she is now immunocompromised. To keep Rev. Julia safe, the UUCD Board of Trustees is asking all those attending her service to wear a mask and at any time you approach her. She asks for no hugging. Masks will be provided at our church entrances. We also invite you, if you feel comfortable doing so, to wear a head scarf or hat in a show of solidarity with Rev. Julia’s battle against cancer.
Following the service, there will be an outdoor photo-op of members and friends of UUCD standing alongside Rev. Julia in front of the church sign on Locust St. You may remove masks briefly while the photo is being taken. Many thanks to Bernadette Woodruff for volunteering to be our photographer.
After the photo, we will have fellowship time with cake and beverages. Masks may be removed while eating. Sharon Blake is providing colorful cards and envelopes at our tables for all who wish to write Rev. Julia a personal note of thanks and share your favorite memories of her. You can place your cards in the basket at the Fellowship Hall information table for Rev. Julia to take home.
