Lecture: Hidden History of Henry Dearborn

Author Terry Nelson will explore the “Hidden History” of Henry Dearborn, a pivotal American figure with deep New Hampshire roots. Featured in the first chapter of Nelson's acclaimed book, "Hidden History of the New Hampshire Seacoast," this presentation delves into Dearborn's early life and enduring impact.

Nelson, a lifelong educator, stumbled upon a monument to Dearborn in Nottingham, NH, during his historical quest for 17th and 18th-century New Hampshire monuments. His extensive travels through the state's oldest towns, including Dover (founded in 1623), allowed him to connect with the very landscape that shaped Dearborn's formative years.
