Gardening with Chickens: Presented by the The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Monmouth County

Join us as Rosalie Nicosia, a certified Rutgers Master Gardener shares her love of gardening with her backyard flock of chickens!

Backyard chickens are becoming progressively mainstream in Monmouth County, but your flock is good for more than just eggs! Chickens add value to the garden through their natural behaviors. This presentation discusses how to create, develop and maintain your garden and how our feathered friends can benefit your garden each season.

Note: This presentation does not teach you how to keep backyard chickens.

Other topics include the history of keeping chickens in Monmouth County, the evolution of how we keep chickens today, current town ordinances, and how the rules vary from town to town.
