STEERING INTO THE SKID FALL EDUCATION SERIES

Steering Into the Skid in the context of dementia refers to a one-act memory care play, not a driving technique for dementia patients. The play, by Arnold Johnston and Deborah Ann Percy, uses the metaphor of driving to show how a couple navigates the changes and adjustments caused by the progression of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of memory loss. The play encourages community discussion and helps destigmatize dementia by depicting the emotional toll and challenges faced by individuals with the disease and their families.
