You all loved the End of Summer Social so much, that we are doing it again and this time, the donations will be going to the unhoused population right here in Volusia County!
One of the best tools to fight fascism is building community. We are taking a short break from our normal protests at City Hall, and focusing on just that! Come out to Drunken Duck Brewing Company between 3-6PM on Saturday, October 4th and let's get to know each other better.
Craft beer, wine, plenty of non-alcoholic options as well, will be available for purchase (Please remember to tip your bartenders!!). One of my absolute favorite delicious food trucks will be on site. If you have not been, Drunken Duck has a beautiful courtyard and games so we encourage you to bring the kids too! Invite safe friends who may not usually come to our City Hall events, but would enjoy an afternoon of fun & socializing!
This will also be the main and final collection to "Shower the Community with Compassion" drive for God's Bathhouse which provides hot showers and clean clothes to our unhoused neighbors. You can see the drive details in the discussion/ comments. Please bring some new or gently used everyday adult clothing and shoes, new toiletries, liquid soaps, new socks, or new underwear to donate and help restore dignity to the homeless in our county.
