Have you ever wondered what quilt styles were popular in the 19th century or how experts determine a quilt’s age? Join VQM Executive Director Alicia Thomas and Quilt Historian Mea Clift for a full day of discovery. The Quilt History Bootcamp includes three informative lectures, a turning of 30 quilts, and plenty of time for questions.
This session is perfect for anyone curious about quilt history. No experience with antique quilts or quilt research is required.
Registration includes:

Schedule:
9:00 – 9:30: Welcome, coffee and bagels
9:30 – 10:45: “How Old Is That Quilt?” with Mea Clift
11:00 – 12:00: “Whole Cloth to Kit Quilts” with Alicia Thomas
12:00 – 1:30: Lunch and optional .5 mile walk around Silver Lake
1:30 – 3:00: “Textile Time Machine” with Mea Clift
3:15 – 4:45: Quilt Turning of 30 Quilts with Alicia and Mea
4:45 – 5:30: Q&A and Wrap Up
5:30 – 6:30: Free time to visit exhibits and shop
