Ice House Entrepreneurial Mindset Program

This 5 week discussion-based program is designed to inspire and engage participants in exploring the fundamental aspects of developing an entrepreneurial mindset. Through thoughtful conversation and shared reflection, participants will examine eight core concepts of entrepreneurial thinking drawn from the companion text, "Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur."

Developed by the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative, the Ice House curriculum uses a flipped classroom approach. Participants will engage with videos, message board activities, and readings on their own time, then come together weekly to discuss insights, share perspectives, and explore how these concepts apply to their own experiences under the guidance of Certified Entrepreneurial Mindset Facilitator, Cherese Spand.

While individuals will be encouraged to work through their new or existing business concepts, this is not a business creation course. Instruction is not provided on the nuts and bolts of starting a business. Instead, the focus is on developing the mental frameworks, attitudes, and perspectives that enable entrepreneurial thinking.

When: Weekly on Wednesday Evenings. August 13-September 10 from 6:30pm-8:30pm

Where: The Hurt Hub 210 Delburg, Davidson, NC | Room 208

Who: This program is open to ages 18+. Participants do not need to be entrepreneurs or small business owners to attend—just bring curiosity and willingness to engage in meaningful discussion.

About Your Facilitator:

Cherese L. Spand brings over two decades of expertise to the financial services industry, building upon her educational foundation from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Her passion lies in empowering clients through comprehensive insurance solutions, tax-free retirement planning, and asset protection strategies.

Drawing from her unique background as a Cosmetology Educator and her strong managerial experience, Cherese identified a critical gap in the market: financial literacy education for women and female entrepreneurs. From this insight, she founded SHE Wealth where she helps individuals as a Financial Empowerment Lifestyle Educator.
