In Term 4 2025 Darwin Playback is offering 8 weeks of “Playshops” - like workshops but focussed on space to play, explore, and enjoy.
Who by?
Each Playshop will be led by a different facilitator from our community.
Each facilitator brings a specific type of practice for us to play with.
Who for?
Open to anyone please tell your friends and family.
Some sessions are also about intergenerational play so children are welcome.
No experience is necessary. Just an interest in play…
A special invite to Darwin Playback community members, audiences - old and new
Why?
To
- Make space to use our bodies, let go, and find surprise and joy.
- Foster connection and community
- Give people a chance to participate without regular commitment.
- Strengthening spontaneity, impulse, flow and other life skills through play.
This year Playback Theatre celebrates 50 years. It emerged from the worlds of improvisation, social theatre, storytelling and - as the name hints - play. This Playshop series by people from our network, is not specifically about Playback Theatre but about how these things connect.
Cost: $10/$5 (Full price / Concession) per Playshop.
If money is a barrier the fee will be waived.
Darwin Playback is subsidising fee as a community building activity.
Each Playshop will stand alone.
Attend just one or come to more and find threads linking them.
