Have you ever walked away from a meeting thinking,
“I should’ve said that differently” or “Why didn’t I speak up?”
Communication can get messy and exhausting if you freeze, over-explain, shut down, or feel like you're not being heard.
Communicate with Influence is a contemporary workshop for individuals who want to feel more confident, connected, and in control of their communication at work and in life.It isn’t about being polished or perfect. It’s about understanding your inner dialogue, building clarity into your words, and using communication to strengthen, not strain, your relationships.
Whether you’re facing job interviews, high-stakes meetings, or difficult one-on-one conversations, this workshop will give you the tools to show up with clarity, confidence, and presence.
What’s in it for me?
• Discover how your self-talk is shaping how others see you
• Learn language swaps that make you sound more confident and credible
• Use powerful questions and active listening to steer conversations with purpose
• Build instant rapport using body language, tone, and presence
• Take ownership of how you're heard, and how people respond to you
Communicate with Influence is one of our most popular workshops, delivered over 40 times to more than 1,500 participants across the Northern Territory. Trusted by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment (OCPE), various government departments, non-government organisations, and the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist, this workshop has been a cornerstone of professional development for over six years.
With an average participant rating of 4.5 out of 5, it continues to evolve because, as the way we communicate changes, so must the way we build communication skills.
Here’s how one participant described their experience: “The venue is a gorgeous heritage-listed property with comfortable lighting, lots of seating in a homely setting, more than adequate facilities, and free parking. When I say homely, I don’t mean like my home - no stained couches or cushions, but more like a Home Magazine-type setting. There were even breakout rooms. A broad range of participants were in attendance. Interestingly, and I found it a pleasant change, many participants were from the private sector.
My key takeaways:
· Words to delete from my language and alternative words to employ
· An effective communicator can deliver feedback positively and differently
· Focus on intent and ideal outcomes
· Be specific, clear, direct and own my language
As a direct result of this training, I planned a phone conversation that I wanted to have (a difficult one) on Saturday afternoon. I made notes. I followed strategies around language, agreement, encouraging active listening, and communicating outcomes. I noted my physiology prior to making the phone call and adjusted it accordingly. I made the call. I finished the call. I feel the call was successful, it was received as I intended and ended as I hoped…”
