Another year to add and celebrate our one of auspicious Hindu festival "chhath Puja”.
We (Chaudhary’s family) would like to heartily welcome all our Nepalese friends & families and all other members of Toowoomba and surrounding to this auspicious occasion of festival "chhath Puja 2025”.
Chhath Puja is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival historically celebrate in the terai region of Nepal. The chhath puja is dedicated to the sun and his sister chhathi maiya in order to thank them for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the grating of certain wishes. Chhath Puja is performed on Kartika Shukla Shasti, which is the sixth day of the month of Kartik according to the Hindu Calendar( Vikram Samvat).
The rituals of the festival are rigorous and are observed over a period of four days. They include holy bathing, fasting and abstaining from drinking water, standing in water for long periods of time, and offering "Arghya" to the setting and rising sun.
The detail of the event this year:
Day 1: Nahay Khay- Saturday 25th October 2025
Day 2: Kharna- Sunday 26th October 2025
Day 3: Sandhya Arghya- Monday 27th October 2025 (5pm onwards)
Day 4: Suryodhya Arghya -Tuesday 28th October 2026 (5am to 10am)
Please attend this auspicious festival on Monday 27th October for Sandhya Argha” and on Tuesday 28th October for Suryodhya Argha”. On Tuesday morning we will worship and then distribute prasadham after worshiping.
