OUTDOOR TRAINING NEW ZEALAND, CANTERBURY BRANCH BUSHCRAFT COURSE
This Course will endeavor to develop your Personal Practical Skills to use in the Bush by experiencing the Outdoors with Qualified Instructors.
WHEN: WEEKEND AWAY - 18-19 October at Dracophylum Flat (Saturday 7.30am to Sunday 3pm).
MEET: At Springfield (at the Public Toilets) by 7.30am and move in convoy to the Dracophylum Flat Track up the Broken River Ski Field Road. Return to this point 3pm Sunday.
The timetable for the weekend will cover:
BRIEFING AT SPRINGFIELD, ENVIRONMENTAL CARE CODE, CAMPCRAFT, LOCATION AWARENESS, NAVIGATION - COVERING: MAPS, COMPASS, BEARINGS, RESECTIONS RIVER SAFETY, EMERGENCY FIRES, WEATHER, LOST/EMERGENCY SHELTERS, SURVIVAL KITS, FIRST AID SCENARIO & DEBRIEF
Cost: $90.00 per person
You will need to be self-sufficient for the 2 days ( 1 night) in an alpine outdoor environment. A detailed gear list will be emailed out once you register.
Children 10 years + are welcome provided that they are accompanied by an adult and youth must be 16 years + to attend unaccompanied with parental consent.
