The Town of Danvers is excited to celebrate America Recycles Day with a Zero Waste Recycling Weekend, offering residents the chance to recycle items not accepted in regular curbside collection. The event will be held Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Danvers High School parking lot, 60 Cabot Road. Proof of residency is required at entry.
This annual event, organized by the Danvers Department of Public Works, makes it easy for residents to reduce waste, recycle responsibly, and support local causes. The event is co-sponsored by Simple Recycling, Republic Services, and BoxQ Electronics Recycling.
Co-Sponsored list:
Simple Recycling (www.SimpleRecycling.com) will collect textiles including clothing, shoes, purses, linens, and comforters as well as household goods either bagged or boxed.
BoxQ Electronics Recycling (www.BoxQ.net) will collect electronic equipment and accessories except for light bulbs, ballasts, and batteries. There are no recycling charges for laptops, keyboards, mice, cables, wires, routers, cell phones, cameras, and small appliances. Price list.

*Other Appliances: stoves, clothes washers, and dryers may be disposed of with the Metals at no charge.
*PLEASE NOTE: No household batteries (AA, AAA, C, etc.) or light bulbs of any type, i.e., fluorescent, incandescent, LED, or Christmas lights.
PAPER SHREDDING will be collected but preformed off sight. The first two boxes of paper are free; subsequent boxes are $5 each (cash accepted here only). This money will be donated to the Danvers Food Pantry.
METAL (file cabinets, grills, bicycles, hangers, appliances, patio furniture, curtain rods, doors, ironing boards, ladders, etc.) can be dropped off for recycling at no charge.
RIGID PLASTICS (trash barrels, buckets, tubs, bins, outdoor furniture, toys, etc.) can be dropped off for recycling at no charge.
COMPOST BINS are available for purchase $25 each by check made out to the Town of Danvers.
BOTTLES AND CANS will be collected by Cub Scout Pack 16 on Saturday, October 25 only. Bring your redeemable bottles and cans to help support the pack.
