J. Henry & Sons Calvados Finished Bourbon & Rye Release On The Farm!

Join us on the farm for our highly anticipated release of our Pomme D’Or, our small batch bourbon finished in Calvados casks and our Le Trou Normand, our four grain rye finished in Calvados casks, Saturday, August 30th starting at 12pm!

We connect to our French heritage once again to discover the rich­ness and eleg­ance of the world’s most famous apple brandy, Calvados. The French have been care­fully craft­ing this icon of the French “art de vivre” for five centuries.

Pomme D’or - Golden Apple - recalls the Norse mythology of Idun, the goddess of youth and the keeper of the life-giving golden apples. It is said Norse gods retained their healthy, young vitality from her golden apples. The phrase ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ originated from the magical properties of the golden apple in Norse mythology.

Le trou Normand or "Norman hole" is a beloved tradition in Normandy where a small glass of Calvados is taken between courses. The "hole" is intended to make room for further enjoyment of one’s meal, to continue the savoring of delicious food & company. Reward yourself and celebrate the fruits of your labor with le trou Normand of ours.

We will have live music from Matt Wilhelm w/ Tim Puchner, playing a mix of covers and originals. El Centro Cocina Food Truck will be serving delicious and authentic Mexican fare.
