Join the MC Concert Choir, Off Kilter, Lads and Lassies for a performance of the “What Dreams May Come” Spring Concert Tour.
This program evokes a reflective journey of hope, imagination, and transformation, using music to explore both aspiration and emotional depth. It suggests a shared artistic vision where voices unite to express longing, beauty, and the promise of what lies ahead.
Together, these pieces trace a powerful arc of dreams, visions, and what emerges from them—both light and shadow, giving depth to the theme What Dreams May Come:
• Sleep, by Whitacre, solidifies the program in the liminal space between waking and dreaming, representing rest, innocence, and the quiet vulnerability where dreams begin.
• John the Revelator, by Caldwell and Ivory, presents dreams as visions—prophetic, urgent, and transformative—revealing truth through revelation rather than rest.
• Erlkönig, by Schubert, explores the dark side of dreams, where imagination turns to fear and illusion, showing how dreams can deceive or destroy.
• Lamentations of Jeremiah by Stroope, confronts collective sorrow and loss, reflecting the moment when dreams are shattered and hope seems distant.
The concert is free and open to the public, although donations for student travel are always greatly appreciated.
