Confidence-Building Ride – Local Roads & Routes

Take your cycling skills further with a friendly, tailored ride exploring local routes around the local area. These sessions are for adults who can ride a bike and have basic skills (pedaling, braking, M-checks) but want to build confidence riding on quieter roads, cycle paths, and learn local routes.

We’ll focus on:

• Road positioning, junctions, and traffic awareness
• Handling your bike in a variety of conditions
• Exploring local routes safely and confidently
• Gradually progressing to slightly busier roads as participants feel ready

Session details:

• Wednesdays: 12:30–14:30, from Danderhall
• Thursdays: 12:30–14:30, from Auchendinny
• Routes are varied and tailored to the group
• Duration includes setup, riding, and short breaks

Progression opportunities:

• Join other led rides on Fridays and Saturdays
• Start using your bike for short trips and active travel
• Optional short-term bike loans available for practice before buying your own
• Signposting to other local groups and rides to continue building confidence

These rides are perfect for adults who want to grow their confidence and enjoy cycling more safely — at your own pace and in a supportive group.
