Workshop: Blue Oyster Mushrooms

NHG welcomes Mushroom Street Farms for a mushroom growing workshop.

NEW! Ever wanted to grow your own mushrooms? Presented by General Manager Garrett Shovan, this workshop will first include an overview of the fascinating world of saprophytic fungi, their stage of growth, and their many benefits - focusing on the versatile blue oyster mushrooms, with their vibrant source of nutrients that support immune function and heart health, and a delicate flavor makes them a culinary and wellness favorite. Then, in an interactive workshop, you'll learn how to cultivate them using wheat straw to create a straw 'log'. Essentially a plastic bag in a tube, you'll follow along to create your own planting and within a couple weeks you'll harvest flavorful mushrooms at home! $60.
