‘For the Love,’ published by KCo Press, will be released on Saturday, December 13, from 3–5 p.m. at Kettle Art, 2650-B Main St., Dallas, TX 75226. All pre-sold orders will ship no later than December 9, just in time for the holidays.
In January 2025, we were approached by visual art publisher KCo Press about the possibility of producing a book celebrating Kettle Art Gallery, located in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. Before moving forward, we invited them to stop by with several examples of their previous work so we could see firsthand the quality of their books. The moment I saw an embossed cover, I was sold.
Much like any collaboration we agree to at Kettle, the potential for a true win/win with KCo Press was undeniable. We discussed every detail such as our responsibilities, the contractual agreement, distribution, pricing, and the added bonus that this project would align perfectly with the gallery’s twentieth anniversary.
In total, more than 40 testimonials were submitted for this 200+ page book, including contributions from artists, critics, media professionals, and civic leaders. Hundreds of photographs, artworks, promotional materials, and pieces of ephemera were also included. We haven’t yet seen the final product, but are incredibly excited about the effort behind it, the possibilities of who will discover it, where it will travel, and what it represents.
