Celebrate the powerful influence of Texas and the American Southwest on the rise of flamenco during Hollywood’s Golden Age. This immersive two-day event brings history to life through costumes, film clips, expert commentary, and live performance, showcasing the artistry of Texas-born performers who helped shape flamenco’s image in early 20th-century cinema.
Join renowned Seville-based flamencologist Juan Vergillos as he guides us through pivotal moments when American pop culture and flamenco collided on the silver screen. His multimedia presentation, delivered in Spanish with English translation, highlights how these cinematic moments continue to influence flamenco 100 years later.
The event opens on Friday, September 5, with a gala evening featuring:
• Live music and flamenco dance performances
• A flamenco fashion show spotlighting vintage and contemporary styles
• Passed appetizers & complementary cocktails
• A celebration of the artists who brought flamenco to Hollywood
Whether you're a film buff, history lover, or flamenco aficionado, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the deep roots and global reach of a cultural icon.
