Easy Entertaining: How to Build a Brotzeit Board

For ages 16 & up

Step into the world of one snackable Bavarian culinary tradition! Brotzeit, or "bread time," is a beloved German snack or light meal that brings together an array of delicious, high-quality artisan ingredients. Akin to building a charcuterie board but with a distinct Bavarian twist, this class will guide you through curating the perfect brotzeit selection. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or a curious beginner, this class offers something for everyone. Prost!

You’ll discover the essentials, including rye bread, soft pretzels, cold cuts, cheeses, and traditional accompaniments like obatzda (Bavarian cheese spread), sweet mustards, pickles, and fresh vegetables. We’ll also show you how to source authentic and high-quality ingredients and you’ll learn where to find the best Bavarian specialties at Central Market and how to select fresh produce to elevate your board.

Each board serves as a snack for up to four people.

21 or older? You'll enjoy a glass of German wine or beer paired with the board.

Safety & Precautions

• At check-in, you will be asked to sign a waiver before entering the Cooking School.
• For that reason, we ask that all attendees arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the confirmed start time of the class.
