Ruck The World
On September 26, 2010, the first official GORUCK Challenge took place in San Francisco. Designed to test gear inspired by U.S. Special Forces training, it brought strangers together to push through hardship with teamwork, grit, and perseverance.
That day marked the moment rucking left its purely military roots and became a global movement for anyone seeking camaraderie and purpose.
Designating September 26 as Ruck The World Day will unite people everywhere to ruck in solidarity — one day each year when the world moves together, carrying weight and lifting each other up.

The Origin of Cappy the Rucker
No one’s exactly sure where he came from. Some say he wandered out of the jungle one day, water still dripping off his fur and a toddler-sized rucksack strapped to his back.
All we know is: he showed up to a GORUCK event, and he never left.
He didn’t speak. He didn’t sprint. He didn’t complain when his ruck was heavier than it needed to be. He just waddled up, loaded down, and started walking…with the quiet power of someone who carries not just weight — but wisdom.
Cappy is the world’s most chill, most mysterious, and most motivating rucker. Follow him…if you can keep up. But don’t expect him to wait.
