Mindful Art classes are focused on providing 'breathing space' by practicing mindfulness in art. Creative or not, come along and learn some fun fluid art techniques, whilst also finding some 'calm' through practicing mindfulness.
Mindful Art classes can teach you a new way to practice mindfulness in a fun and easy way, a perfect new tool for your own Wellbeing Toolbox which you can use again and again.
Fluid art is perfect for mindfulness as it encourages us to focus on the flow and movement of the paint and interaction of the colours, keeping us present the moment and creating a calm amidst the chaos.
Mindfulness is a well-established tool that is used to manage several different conditions or challenges such as mental health issues, neurodiversity and even physical conditions such as chronic pain. Art is a great way to practice mindfulness by keeping us focused in the moment, and what’s more, it's a lot of fun!
This type of artwork is also perfect for those who think 'I'm not very artistic' as the paint does a lot of the hard work for you! Classes are kept simple and easy to follow so it's perfect for those ‘non-creatives,’ as well as ‘creatives’.
This Mindful Art class will run over 6 weeks where we will cover various fluid art techniques and use these to practice mindfulness. Each week you will be guided through a new techniques and shown how different effects can be achieved by using various tools and methods. During the creative process, we will take some time to reflect on the present moment and practice mindfulness through art.
All materials are included. No experience required, only enthusiasm.
