A free, drop-in event open to everyone—individuals, families, and community groups! We'll be leading fun activities including wreath making, bird watching, guided nature walks, and more! There'll be opportunities to learn new skills, meet like-minded people, and help enhance local greenspaces.
This event marks the beginning of our exciting 5-year journey to connect the local Cumbernauld community with nature. We’re thrilled to welcome both familiar faces and new participants to this community-driven project.
Event Activities:
❄️ Project Marquee - Learn about the project, meet the team, and find out how to get involved in future events, training and volunteer opportunities.
❄️ Fire Pit Area - Warm up around the fire with hot drinks, roasted chestnuts, and marshmallows!
❄️ Dogwood Management - Help improve local habitats by removing invasive species.
❄️ Wreath Making - Create beautiful wreaths using Dogwood stems.
❄️ Winter Tree Walk - Learn how to identify the local trees.
❄️ Bird Watching & Guided Nature Walks - Explore the local wildlife of St Maurice's with our Nature Officers.
❄️ Bird Feeder Making - Craft feeders to support local bird populations, using natural materials. Perfect for attracting birds to your garden in time for the Big Garden Bird Watch.

- Under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Cumbernauld Living Landscape Cumbernauld Living Landscape is improving Cumbernauld’s greenspaces for both people and wildlife, while helping everyone in the community connect with the nature on their doorstep. Funded by National Lottery players, it is a partnership led by Scottish Wildlife Trust, with partners North Lanarkshire Council, TCV – The Conservation Volunteers and Sanctuary Scotland.
