UV & AAM - live at THE ABBEY

Two Vancouver Island based instrumental trios (Air Above Mountains & Ultraviolet) invite you to the cozy and acoustically-rich Abbey Studio in Cumberland to experience an unforgettable and immersive evening of cinematic artistry, sonic exploration and spontaneous composition. This special double-bill will feature separate performances by each group and culminate in an improvised collaborative finale.

Air Above Mountains are an instrumental trio who use free improvisation to create immersive, outward bound, and cinematic music.

Cultivating a sonic vocabulary over the past eight years, AAM’s atmospheric sound shifts prismatically through meditative and unsettling passages.

Drinking from an ever-flowing and seamlessly shifting river of inspirations and influences from around the globe, Ultraviolet is power trio is full of groove and experimental energy. Their creative process is fuelled by a spirit of continuous exploration that drives creative collaboration.
