Rating: Moderate (longer distance, some gradual climbs, rocks or roots, requires basic fitness)
Terrain: This wooded loop passes a view of the gravel pit and a stream along the way. Most of the trail is flat but there are a few pronounced hills you will hike over. There are a few historical monuments alongside the loop.
Trails in the area are not well marked, so downloading the map ahead of time is recommended.
Landmarks: This site is a former Cistercian monastery, now owned by the town of Cumberland, is home to the oldest war veteran's memorial in the United States. The memorial, Nine Men's Misery, lies toward the beginning of the trek, which will lead to the Monk's Quarry Trail.
