SYNOPSIS:
Todd Shultz has been arrested for the murder of his girlfriend, Kelly. For five straight hours, detectives Barney and Judy have been harassing, manipulating, and interrogating Todd. They bring up his past, how he became a degenerate, left his disabled brother to die alone, started his life in crime, and among other things. They try to break Todd, but to no avail. We see past segments of Todd’s life with Kelly. We are also introduced to moments when Todd visits his mother, Macy, who is in prison for the murder of her boss. Throughout this story, Todd is being painted as a terrible man as he tries in every fiber of his being to claim his innocence.

CHARACTERS:
TODD SHULTZ
A recovering drug addict who is accused of murdering his girlfriend. He can be easily ticked when his buttons are pushed. He has a shady past and doesn't like bringing touchy subjects to the surface.
Gender: Male
Age: 20 - 30
KELLY KINGSTON
Todd's girlfriend; daughter of a rich club owner. She is seen in multiple flashbacks and other ways throughout the story. She helped prevent Todd from using drugs again. She's kind but sticks to her guns.
Gender: Female
Age: 20 - 30
NICHOLAS BARNEY
A senior detective who has been on the force for 20+ years. He has an exceptional amount of patience, but immediately steps in when things get out of hand.
Gender: Male
Age: 35 - 60
HANK JUDY
A relatively fresh-on-the-force detective who moved from Texas up to NYC. Working alongside Nick, he can be a hothead when the slightest thing upsets him; almost the complete opposite of Nick.
Gender: Male
Age: 18 - 30
MACY RUTH
Todd's mother; an inmate at Riker's Island for being convicted of murdering her boss. Much like Todd, she developed thick skin from the history of her past. She doesn't like being pressed about her crime.
Gender: Female
