Saturday, August 23rd, 7 pm: Yin Yoga
Enjoy a 75 minute yin yoga class with a sound healing meditation at the end. This class is shaped to include yin yoga poses that allows the body to slow down, embrace the present, and use minimal movement.
Yin Yoga is described as the feminine practice in yoga. The practice forces us to stay present in our body and notice what comes up in a pose, ( an emotion, a place, a person, etc.). Yin yoga is used to create harmony to the body. The first 2 classes were focused on the yang portion of yoga and now we move towards the yin portion. This creates balance and a well rounded practice. This is perfect for those who do not have any experience with yoga as well as those who are advanced in their yogi practice but want to slow down and create a deep stretch in the body and mind.
At the end of class there will be a sound healing meditation to create a relaxed, calm, and peaceful feeling in the body and mind. Cueing the breath is important in yin yoga so get ready to breathe in the fresh oxygen of BD plants while you are zen on your mat.
Saturday, August 30th, 7 pm: Yoga Nidra
Explore the relaxing, sleepy, and dreamy version of yoga that is yoga nidra. The word Nidra is the Sanskrit word for sleep. Enjoy a 45 minute yogic guided meditation as we explore the realms of your deep state consciousness. This class is completely lying down on your mat with blankets ( bring your own) to support you. While you focus on your breath, you focus on the sound of the voice coming from the teacher. You will be guided to explore the state between sleep and awake.
This class is perfect for those who are just beginning their yoga practice and those who are enhanced. This is perfect for a night of relaxation, stress reduction, combating insomnia, and improving creativity.
Finally a sound healing meditation will take place to guide you deep into your inner world, all while, surrounded by the magical and beautiful plants at BD. Leaving class should make you feel like you're walking on a cloud. Bring your own mat, pillow, and blanket!
