What is the Casting Dreams Competition?
A hands-on, creative competition where students (ages 5–18) carve their dream design into a scratch mold—and watch it come to life in real metal!
What to Expect:
Each student will receive a scratch mold (either a 4x4" square or a 2.5" circle) and carving tools at check-in.
Students will carve their own designs into the mold. Bring a sketch of your design to the competition!
Once carved, the design is cast in metal on-site.
Finished pieces are judged by a panel.
Prizes:
The top designs will be eligible to receive a gift card valued up to $150 and will advance to the National Competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in April 2026!
Registration Details:
Pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.
$10 registration fee supports scholarships for the Kids and College program at MCC.
Registered participants will receive additional information.
