Join the 3rd Annual Wonders of Monarchs and Milkweed event at Cumberland Mountain State Park on Saturday, September 20th — and guess what? It’s FREE!
From fluttering butterflies to fun crafts and popcorn, this event has something for all ages:
Kids ages 3–10 (12–1 PM Central): Christine Doster with her group of volunteers will show a video and lead the younger children in a craft and in acting out the stages of the caterpillar.
Kids ages 11+ (12-1 PM central): Rhonda McCuistion will lead educational craft activities.
Adults (1–2 PM Central): Get the inside scoop from Lenore Stancyk, who raises Monarchs at home (she’s got 100 right now!). If the timing’s right, you might even see a live butterfly take its first flight!
Learn how to help pollinators, discover which native plants Monarchs love, and why avoiding pesticides is so important. Did you know 35% of our food crops rely on pollinators? That’s wild!
Free milkweed and native plants for a donation, prize drawings from generous sponsors like Lowe’s, Tennessee Naturescapes, Landscape Solutions, and Crossville Food City, plus refreshments (yes, popcorn!).
Mark your calendars, bring the family, and PREREGISTER.
