Dark Welsh Folklore: Mist kings & mountain hags - SOLD OUT

As the nights draw in and the sun starts to falter, the ancient Welsh festival of Nos Calan Gaeaf celebrates the start of the dark half of the year. One of the 3 great Ysbrydnos or ‘Spirit Nights’, when supernatural powers walked the earth and sensible folk stayed inside, lit the fire and told stories of the dangers outside their door.

Join us for a modern take on this ancient tradition as autumn turns to winter, with tales of the Mist King, the Mountain Hag, the Corpse Hounds, the Wives of the Lower World and other dark spirits from Welsh folklore. It’s the spooky season with ghosts, ghouls and goblins galore - come meet the homegrown horrors stalking the night long before ‘Halloween’ became a holiday.
