About the event

Ohio’s Trilobites & Other Ancient Fossils

Around 500 million years ago, Ohio was a tropical shallow seabed with Trilobites, squid, corals, and a variety of shelled animals. The last Ohio Glacial Period ended around 11,700 years ago and exposed Ohio’s shale sediments containing these ancient fossils. During this one-hour multimedia lesson, Crawford Park District Volunteer, Bryan Summer, will show you displays of Ohio’s ancient fossils and discover places in Ohio where you can go to collect Ohio fossils.
