Jim Abernethy is a conservationist, photographer, and shark expert known for his work documenting and interacting with sharks, particularly tiger sharks, in films and documentaries. His film "Sharks My Love" showcases his unique relationship with a tiger shark named Emma.
Beyond his film work, Abernethy is also involved in conservation efforts. He established WildlifeVOICE and Operation Blue Pride, non-profits focused on ocean conservation and veteran support through in-water activities. He spends much of his time at sea, operating shark expeditions and encounters on his boat, the "Shear Water".
