Let's hang out and eat pizza!
We are starting a monthly gathering of pizza eating around the state. We will meet every Third Thursday of the month, the location is what changes! Have you been wanting to try a spot but maybe needed the excuse to make the drive? Well, now you have one 😁
We'll gather, enjoy pizza (purchased individually), drinks, and good conversation with fellow pizza enthusiasts. You can arrive any time during the four hour window we will be there, and if you can't stay, feel free to get your pie to go! We'll also try to connect with the pizza makers if they have time. Our goal is to support this small business and enjoy some great pizza! And there may be some RI The Pizza State merch given away, too 👀.
The first spot is Merlino's Pizzeria at 889 Dyer Ave in Cranston. They have awesome New Haven style pizzas using only the best ingredients from Italy. The sauce is a powerhouse of flavor, savory and tangy. They make each pie with love and you can taste it in every bite! They started as a small walk up pizza shop but recently expanded. Now, they have a lovely dining room perfect for a date night or a nice dinner with the family. This is on the list of places to try for many Rhode Islanders, if it's not on yours, it should be!
