Understand Your Sewing Machine Workshop

The Understand Your Sewing Machine workshop is the perfect way to unbox a new sewing machine and discover its full potential. Perhaps you already own a machine you’ve never used, have recently upgraded to a new model, or have always wanted to learn how to sew but don’t know where to begin.

At Colour and Cloth, we combine our in-house sewing machine service and repair expertise with hands-on teaching to help you get the very best from your machine. We see countless machines come in for servicing with problems caused by simple ‘user errors’—issues that can be avoided with the right knowledge from the start.

Whether your interest lies in dressmaking, quilting, or creating home furnishings, Christine will guide you through what your machine can do. You’ll learn essential functions, practical tips, and troubleshooting skills so you can sew with confidence and avoid common pitfalls.

Students are encouraged to take notes and ask questions —this workshop is as much about your curiosity as it is about the content.
