Slow/Fast Session @ St. John’s Coffeehouse

From your Slow/Fast Session host, Madeline Hill

We’re so happy to be kicking off another year of tunes together and wanted to share a small update to the Slow/Fast Session. The first hour will stay the same—sharing tunes and playing together at a relaxed medium tempo. The second hour will focus on learning 1–2 new tunes by ear, very slowly, in the Irish traditional oral style, and is open to all melody instruments.

There will be no sheet music used during the session; music will be available afterward. Feel free to bring a recording device to help you learn and revisit the tunes at home. We’ll try this format for a few sessions and see how it feels—I’m really looking forward to making music with you all this year! 🎻
