Join us for a full day of scientific discovery, creativity, and hands-on learning at our 3rd Annual Homeschool Science Fair. Whether your child is just beginning to explore science or is ready to present a full investigation, there's a division for every young scientist.
Science Explorers (Grades 1–3):
Students will share the results of a science experiment they completed at home and talk with friendly judges about what they learned. This division is designed to encourage curiosity and excitement for science in a low-pressure setting.
Elementary (Grades 4–6), Junior (Grades 7–8), and Senior (Grades 9–12):
Students in these divisions will present a scientific investigation using the scientific method. Projects should include a tri-fold display board and a 3–5 minute oral presentation. Awards will be given for first, second, and third place in each division.
Special Opportunity:
The STEM and Robotics Center will cover the Region VIII Science Fair registration fee for any first-place winners who choose to advance.
Region VIII Fair Dates at Southeastern Louisiana University:
Elementary Division (Grades 4–6): Wednesday, February 5
Junior/Senior Division (Grades 6–12): Thursday, February 6
(Note: Winners in the Jr/Sr division may qualify for the Louisiana Science and Engineering Fair held at LSU)
Space is limited, so be sure to mark your calendars.
More details and registration information will be posted in October.
