You will play as a team. It would be great if you can sign up as a team in advance but if that's inconvenient I can pair you up on the day. Both players on a team will use a different standard 12 element army chosen from our theme: Armies & Enemies of Early Imperial Rome (II/56 with an ally: (II/22a or II/22b or II/22e and/or II/44) or II/28b or II/47d or II/51 or Two allied enemies:( I/7d, I/47, I/48, I/58, II/14, II/22a, II/22b, II/22e, II/23a, II/23c, II/24,II/25, II/26, II/28b, II/37, II/40, II/44, II/47c, II/47d, II/47e, II/47f, II/47g, II/51, II/52, II/53, II/54a, II/55a, II/56, II/57,II/58, II/59, II/60, II/64b). Decide in advance which of your two is the lead army so you know the aggression and home terrain.
Play will be on a 4’ x 2’ board (or actually two 2'x2' put together). Terrain and deployment as per Big Battle DBA. Each player on the team dices simultaneously for movement and can discuss freely (but audibly to opponents). The games are sudden death - as soon as one army loses 4 elements (or more complex cases as per standard game) the whole team loses. This means games are as swift (or swifter) than standard DBA.
If you don’t have a valid army - no problem as loan armies are available .
Six rounds 4 players in each game each using the same 12 elements (15mm) for all games so no dismounting or other shenanigans.
Ranking will be by team performance but differentiated for the SOA league by kills and losses of individual players.
Fee for the event will be £10 (£5 for Scimitar club members)

Mercian DBA is part of the SOA UK DBA League
Bring a clear, spare list of both armies to help your opponents. Also bring a preset valid set of home terrain pieces to speed play.
Usual City Centre venue , Coventry Quakers - 25 Hill St, Coventry CV1 4AN
10:15 for 10:30 start. There are many handy pubs & shops, we recommend The Gatehouse tavern. There is limited free onsite parking but NCP Coventry Belgrade Plaza (Ringway Hill Cross, Coventry CV1 4AJ) which is accessed from Junction 9 on the ring road is VERY close and has ample space.
NB the Meeting House is an alcohol & drug free zone. Tea Coffee & biscuits will be provided.
