Fire & Dust at PVC: RAYNA HARMONY and ROBYN ELIZABETH!

Poets - please ONLY register for a ticket if you need a guaranteed open mic slot and can definitely attend. Please DON'T register for a ticket if you had one last month. There will also be open mic slots available on the night. **

Fire & Dust is a monthly poetry open mic event in Coventry city centre, hosted by local poets Ann Atkins and Raef Boylan. All welcome - 'page' poets, spoken word artists, slammers, MCs, story-tellers and anyone happy to listen to some wordsmith performances. Doors open for people to come in, grab seats and get settled around 7.15pm. The gig will start at 8PM.

Open mic slots are 3 minutes per poet. Find Raef (with clipboard) to sign up!

HEADLINERS: RAYNA HARMONY and ROBYN ELIZABETH

RAYNA HARMONY takes us on a journey from childhood to parenthood in her poetry as she attempts to cultivate calm in the chaos. Unpacking grief, addiction and the beauty in it all. Rayna recently presented her piece ‘Home’ for Apples and Snakes as part of Playing Poetry and is looking forward to sharing this where it all began, at Fire & Dust.

ROBYN ELIZABETH is in the early stages of her poetry journey, having attended Fire & Dust for just under 18 months and sharing her own work since the beginning of 2025. With a lifelong love of words, Robyn has previously written blogs and non-fiction stories, and more recently turned her focus to poetry as a way to explore personal and collective experience. In July, she took part in a poetry development project led by Apples and Snakes, where she learned from acclaimed poets including Coventry legend John Bernard, Bradley Taylor, Jasmine Gardosi and Miss Yankee. Robyn wrote and performed a 10-minute piece as part of the programme at the Belgrade Theatre's new Jaguar space. Her poetry often explores themes of grief and self-acceptance, and she is beginning to delve into feminist and political writing with honesty and curiosity.

Some open mic tickets are available to reserve here on Eventbrite; the rest are for sign-up on the night. Priority will be given to poets who didn't get to read last month. If you read last month and want to read again, your name will go on the reserve list for random draw to fill empty slots. Most poets who want to read WILL get to, but sometimes the list is too busy to fit everyone in!
