Our Mr. Matsura - Free Community Screenings with Filmmaker Beth Harrington
Frank Sakae Matsura left Japan in the early 1900s and found his way to the Okanogan Valley, where he quietly documented frontier life through thousands of photographs. A son of samurai heritage raised during Japanβs rapid modernization, Matsura blended cultures in a way few others could β capturing everyday people, landscapes, and tribal life in striking detail. Our Mr. Matsura tells the story of his life, legacy, and the images that continue to shape how the region remembers its past.
