Goethes ungeliebter Engel

Nach erniedrigender Liebe zu Goethe taumelt Bettina von Arnim aus der Romantik in die Revolution. Ein Engel, der mutig in die Dornen der Politik greift und unversehens zur Mitbegründerin der Demokratie wird. Beflügelt von Fürst Pückler, pflegt sie einen Salon, bei dem die Heroen des Vormärz geistreich aufeinanderprallen.
König Friedrich Wilhelm IV. will Bettina zu einem liberalen Volkskönig erziehen. Verfolgt von dessen Ministern, dichtet sie, komponiert und schreibt, bis die Kerkertür ins Schloss fällt.
