30 Days of Walking - October Challenge
Celebrate the beginning of Fall by walking daily for 30 days, then keep it going 🙂
Fall is the time of year when many turn their attention to work, school and other new projects; and with the weather cooling it is a perfect time to get outside to get some steps. It is a colorful season of beauty, but it is also a time when nature shows us that all things are passing & the importance of self care. You are invited to mark this turning point in the natural year by joining us with a commitment to walk daily.

What is the goal?
Lace up your sneakers! It's time to log a 30-day walking streak one step at a time. The challenge is designed to help you overcome the days you may not feel like exercising & create consistency. Daily walking is shown to be an integral part in good health.
Our goal is at least 7000 steps a day, but if you are new to walking then start with simply walking around your backyard for five minutes every day; the goal is to create your own daily walking habit. How you count your steps is up to you. You can choose to wear a pedometer or simply walk in an area you are familiar with. The key challenge is to walk every day, so that at the end of October you can claim a 30-day walking streak! October has 31 days so there is a built-in grace day or bonus day!

Why should I walk every day?
The physical benefits of walking are immense, improving cardiovascular health & circulation, reducing joint stiffness & muscle aches/pains, improving blood pressure, boosting metabolism and more. In addition walking has been shown to reduce feelings of anxiety & depression, relieve stress & increase mindfulness, especially if done outside connecting to nature.
To prevent injuries & build health, listen to your body, walk to comfort level or just a little beyond, but do not overstress your body. Take 5 minutes to stretch before & after, focusing on your lower body, feet & more to prevent soreness & injuries, as well as aid muscle recovery.

How far should I walk every day?
We don't require a step count or distance. We want to include everyone, regardless of physical fitness or activity level. Our goal with this challenge is to be consistent with daily activity, which the 30 day tracker will help you stay accountable.

Cost: Free - Because there is so much power in community, we encourage you to share your step count/30 day consistency, so we can share the grand total of steps we all walked together.

PRIZE! As an additional motivation and more health benefits, we are offering a Free Sauna session (Value $35) when you show us your completed walking tracker at the end of the month!
