This beginner-to-intermediate guitar class is designed to give students a strong foundation in both playing and understanding music. You’ll learn essential chords, strumming patterns, scales, and riffs, while also exploring the basics of music theory—like rhythm, harmony, and song structure—in a practical, easy-to-apply way. Whether your goal is to strum your favorite songs around the campfire or take the first steps toward becoming a professional musician, this class equips you with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to grow as a guitarist and unlock your musical potential.
About the Instructor:
Jimmy Willden is a Texas-based singer-songwriter, performer, and music educator whose career spans more than two decades. A founding member of Corpus Christi Songwriters, Jimmy has long been a driving force in supporting and showcasing local talent, while also building a rich solo career defined by heartfelt lyrics and soulful performances. As half of the folk-rock duo Yosh & Yimmy, he blends harmonies and storytelling that resonate with audiences across genresinute. Beyond the stage and studio, Jimmy has dedicated over 20 years to teaching private music lessons, inspiring and mentoring countless students to discover their own musical voices.
