Looking to become a member of the Art Center’s Clay Studio? This is the course for you! This orientation is designed to provide new members with a comprehensive introduction to our studio’s equipment, safety protocols, and studio policies.
During this course, students will receive hands-on demonstrations into studio procedures, including:
Slab rolling
Extruding
Wheel operation
Glazing
Firing
Additionally, students will learn how to maintain a clean and safe workspace, properly store their work, and navigate open studio hours and sign-up procedures.
By registering for this course, students acknowledge that this class is exclusively for those seeking a Clay Studio membership. The Cost of this course includes a 3-month Clay Studio membership, which will be activated upon successful completion of the full course.
Instructor Bio:
Adam earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and has been working with clay since 2012. He’s the co-owner of A&N Ceramics, a local business focused on creating functional pottery and teaching workshops. Adam’s laid-back teaching style fosters a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where the goal is to unwind, get creative, and take a break from the hustle of daily life. You’ll learn a lot, have fun, and probably make a few new friends along the way.
