About the Bowers Museum -

Bowers Museum (www.bowers.org) showcases art and artifacts from cultures around the world in 9 permanent collection exhibitions and rotating featured exhibitions. As the largest and one of the oldest museums in Orange County, Bowers has been voted ‘Best Museum’ in Orange County for the past 30 years by OC Register Readers (2023) and has partnered with world-class institutions. According to the Bowers Museum: “World of the Terracotta Warriors comprises over 110 newly uncovered treasures including Terracotta Warriors, chariot regalia, jade and gold adornments, bronze vessels, and immersive digital experiences. In a landmark collaboration with the Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Center and esteemed museums and archaeological institutions across Shaanxi Province, these artifacts make their North American debut, offering audiences unprecedented glimpses into China before and during the Qin dynasty.”
Parking
Parking is available directly north of the museum for a $6.99 fee. In the instance of overflow, the lot just south of the museum on 20th street will also be made available. Nearby metered and timed street parking is also available.
Schedule
10:00 a.m. - Meet at the museum admissions desk
10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. - Sketch
12:30 p.m. - Gather to share our work, make introductions and take a group photo. (Location to be determined the day of event)
1:00 p.m. - End (optional group lunch following)
All are welcome whether beginner or seasoned pro. Dry media may be used inside the museum. Outdoor areas and in the courtyard, you may bring your favorite media, an easel if desired and maybe a folding chair or stool. If you’re new to sketching, your equipment can be as simple as a pencil and a sketchbook!
