A 2 hour in-person workshop
For educators, SNAs, caregivers, and helping professionals who want to understand Autistic behaviour through a nervous system lens — moving beyond compliance and toward regulation, communication, and connection.
This 2 hour workshop is a compassionate, practical deep-dive into supporting Autistic regulation, communication, and connection through a nervous system lens — not a behaviour-control lens.
We’ll move away from reward charts, consequences, and compliance culture, and instead explore what behaviour is really communicating in moments of stress, shutdown, overwhelm, or distress.
You’ll learn how to:
Reframe “challenging behaviour” as communication and nervous system response
Identify the child’s state before strategy (regulated / rising stress / meltdown / shutdown / recovery)
Use co-regulation language that builds safety, dignity, and trust
Understand unmet needs through the “needs behind behaviour” lens (safety, autonomy, clarity, regulation, rest, connection, and more)
Replace control-based scripts with connection-centred support responses
Includes:
✔ Full PDF toolkit
✔ Live training + Q&A
✔ Recording available afterward
Together we’ll explore how “behaviour” is often a child’s way of saying:
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I don’t feel safe.”
“I need help.”
“I can’t do this right now.”
