With Movement Shiatsu, every movement and body-based discipline finds its place, connected through a common language of awareness and transformation.”
Movement Shiatsu: a deeply integrative, body-mind-rooted method that lets the intelligence of the body/mind authentically express its language. As a practitioner, you’ll engage with practical, hands-on techniques that bridge the tactile and the intuitive.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll synthesise modern and ancient wisdom—fusing Western anatomy, Traditional Oriental Medicine’s meridian system, and cutting-edge research in somatic awareness—into a unified, coherent model.
Studies show that somatic practices—like Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, Tai Chi, Qigong—enhance self- regulation, reduce stress and chronic pain, and foster emotional resilience by tuning practitioners into their internal bodily awareness.
Movement Shiatsu empowers both client and practitioner, fostering deeper connections—to oneself and to others—and cultivating greater confidence, professionalism, and effectiveness in your sessions. You’ll be able to apply these insights and tools immediately, enriching your practice from day one.
The weekend will cover:
Body awareness & touch skills
• Develop mindful presence and interactive listening through hands-on exercises
Archetypal movement patterns
• Explore movement families that echo early developmental phases
Experiential anatomy
• Learn ‘through your own body’—starting with the first meridian family (Stomach & Large Intestine/ Spleen/ Lung - Tai Yin & Yang Ming)
Learn two of The Six Forms of Touch
• Discover and practice different qualities of touch for connection and transformation.
Teacher: Jasmine Itter is an embodiment practitioner with over 25 years of experience. She qualified as a Shiatsu practitioner in 1999 in Cork City, Ireland, and went on to both practice and teach Shiatsu in Ireland.
Her deep connection to healing and embodiment has been nourished through diverse modalities, including Shiatsu, Watsu, Yoga, authentic movement, dance, Qi Gong, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. She met Bill Palmer, the founder of Movement Shiatsu in 2010, and immediately felt inspired to study at his School for Experiential Education (SEED). Drawn to its integrative approach, she found a profound sense of wholeness and clarity that enables coherence between herrange of somatic practices.
