Discover the edible treasures hidden along the banks of the River Bandon in this unique sensory walk and wild food experience, led by local wild food chef and forager Kevin O’Connell.
🍃 What to Expect:
A gentle, guided foraging walk along the river
Learn to identify seasonal wild plants, herbs, flowers, and trees
Insights into traditional and modern uses of local wild foods
Finish with a delicious wild food picnic made from the day’s foraged finds!
This is more than a walk — it’s a chance to reconnect with nature, deepen your understanding of the land, and experience the joy of eating from the hedgerows of West Cork.
👣 Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing recommended.
Organised as part of the River Guardians Lúghnasa events during Heritage Week, this event highlights the importance of ecological awareness, food heritage, and the simple pleasures of eating close to the land.
