It's Junie B.'s first day of first grade! Between new friends and new glasses, a lot of things are changing.… Featuring lovable characters and bursting with fun-filled songs, this hilarious musical combines four of Barbara Park’s best-selling books into an unforgettable stage show for all ages.
***What should I expect at a Sensory-Friendly performance? Great question! ***
When Purchasing a Ticket:
- Request a "buffer seat" between your party and another group. Or, choose the "Wiggle Section" where kids are welcome to pace, stand, and move as needed during the show
Before the Show: 9:00 - 9:20 am
- Arrive early and meet the actors out of costume
- Walk on the stage before the show to become familiar with the stage space
During the Show
- Lights in the audience will stay partially lit instead of fully dark
- Audience members are welcome to move around, make noise, verbally respond to what is happening onstage, etc. There is no "wrong way" to react to the show.
- "Harsh" sound and light cues (like loud bangs or flashing lights) will be eliminated or softened
- A designated "quiet area" is available outside of the theatre to re-regulate
Sensory-Friendly performances are designed to provide an accessible and comfortable theatre experience for people with autism, sensory sensitivities, and other social, learning, or cognitive disabilities.
