Street Maintenance Utility Town Hall Meetings – “Let’s Fix Our Streets”
Copperas Cove, Texas – The City of Copperas Cove will host a series of Town Hall Meetings to provide information and answer questions regarding the newly proposed Street Maintenance Utility. Public meetings for the “Let’s Fix Our Streets” initiative are scheduled as follows:
Residential Town Hall Meetings at the Technology Center, 508 S. 2nd Street:
1. Monday, September 8th, 6pm
2. Wednesday, September 10th, 6pm
3. Tuesday, September 23rd, 6pm
4. Saturday, September 27th, 10am
Commercial Town Hall Meetings at the Technology Center, 508 S. 2nd Street:
1. Saturday, September 6th, 10am
2. Monday, September 15th, 6pm
3. Wednesday, September 24th, 6pm
The city has been drafting and will propose a Street Maintenance Utility for the purpose of repairing our city streets. The program is designed to fairly distribute the cost of street repairs and maintenance among residential and commercial properties, based on the estimated amount of vehicle traffic generated by each property. This approach ensures an equitable method of funding necessary improvements to our community’s transportation network.
Collected revenue would be exclusively utilized for street maintenance and repairs, helping to address aging infrastructure and improve driving conditions across the city. Public participation is vital. These scheduled Town Hall Meetings are an opportunity for citizens to engage directly with city staff, ask questions, and learn more about how the proposed utility and related fee will impact the entire community.
