Om udstillingen:
Aleksandra Domanović (f. 1981, Novi Sad) arbejder i krydsfeltet mellem teknologi, historie og kultur. Med en legende, men kritisk tilgang undersøger hun, hvordan identitet og sociale fortællinger skabes i et medieret samfund.
Den retrospektive udstilling Canopy Collapse præsenterer Domanovićs konceptuelle og materialebevidste praksis, hvor hun med skulptur, video, fotografi og digitale medier undersøger, hvordan teknologi former både vores hukommelse og identitet. Fra monumenter over nulevende kendisser til genetisk modificerede tyre og nyhedsudsendelser fra de post-jugoslaviske stater, samt referencer til 1990’ernes technorave-kultur, trækker hun tråde fra tidlig jugoslavisk computerteknologi til nutidens digitale netværk – altid med et kønsbevidst og personligt blik på kulturens forandringer.
Udstillingen er udviklet og organiseret af Kunsthalle Wien. Denne version er organiseret af Kunsthal Charlottenborg, kurateret af Henriette Bretton-Meyer og realiseret med generøs støtte fra Augustinus Fonden, Beckett-Fonden, Knud Højgårds Fond, Det Obelske Familiefond, Statens Kunstfond og William Demant Fonden.

About the exhibition:
Aleksandra Domanović (b. 1981, Novi Sad) works across an expansive practice focusing on the intersections of technology, history, and culture. With a playful yet critical approach, she explores how identity and social narratives are constructed in a mediated society.
The retrospective exhibition Canopy Collapse presents Domanović’s conceptual and materially conscious practice, in which she uses sculpture, video, photography, and digital media to explore how technology shapes both our memory and identity. From monuments to living celebrities to genetically modified bulls and news broadcasts from the post-Yugoslav states, as well as references to 1990s technorave culture, she traces connections from early Yugoslav computer technology to today’s digital networks—always with a gender-conscious and personal perspective on cultural transformation.
The exhibition was conceived and organised by Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna. This iteration has been organised by Kunsthal Charlottenborg, curated by Henriette Bretton-Meyer, and realised with generous support from the Augustinus Foundation, Beckett Foundation, Danish Arts Foundation, Knud Højgård Foundation, Obel Family Foundation and William Demant Foundation.
